THE GUT-BRAIN CONNECTION

Lately, I’ve been fascinated by the mind-gut connection.

According to Dr. Mayer’s cutting-edge neuroscience and discoveries on the human microbiome, he demonstrates the biological link between the mind and the digestive system. (Think: gut instincts are real)!

I am sure you’ve experienced the connection between your mind and your gut—like that feeling you get when you make a decision because it “felt right”; the fluttering in your stomach before an interview; the tension and stomach pangs you get when you’re totally stressed out.

The communication between the gut and the brain has been recognized by many ancient healing traditions (Ayurvedic & Chinese medicine). While I’d argue women have this figured out ;) Western science, as a whole, has been late to the game. We’ve failed to recognize how interconnected the gut, brain, and microbiome communicate with each other. The coolest thing? We have the ability to harness the infinite wisdom of the mind-gut connection and take charge of our health and healing. What does it take? Simply listening to the build-in wisdom of our body.

I am fascinated by the implications of Dr. Mayers research.
